2025 Inequality Landscape Report Launch

Our annual report, released in September, explores two facets of health inequality in Scotland. In Part 1, we take stock of key health inequality trends that underpin the socio-economic conditions that shape population health, finding that there have been modest gains in some living standards, but this is set against persistent inequalities that continue to drive poor health. In Part 2, we take a deep dive into deaths from drugs, alcohol and suicide, highlighting young adult men experiencing socio-economic deprivation as a population group at high risk of these preventable deaths.

Our launch event features a discussion on the report itself, a talk from Auditor General Stephen Boyle, and a panel session chaired by Chris Creegan, featuring Stephen Boyle and SHERU co-leads Emma Congreve and Kat Smith.
